Digestion via a co-fermentation digester

Sustainable biomass is playing an increasingly important role in our economy. Organic co-products can contribute to the energy transition.

In a co-fermentation digester, bacteria convert organic co-products into biogas under oxygen-poor (anaerobic) conditions. In co-digestion, animal manure is supplemented with organic co-products. In a co-fermentation digester, this is at least 50% animal manure mixed with other biomass.

These co-products often provide a higher gas yield, which increases efficiency. Due to the availability of manure and organic co-products, co-fermentation digesters are often located in agricultural businesses.

At Looop, we have a wide range of organic co-products suitable for processing in a co-fermentation digester.
