Primary Potato Starch for Renewables
is a co-product created during the processing of potatoes in potato processing plants. The production process of primary potato starch slurry starts with washing the potatoes to remove dirt and impurities. The potatoes are then ground into a suspension of potato pulp and starch. This suspension is often handled with water to separate the starch. The starch is extracted from the suspension and further processed for various applications, while the primary potato starch slurry is disposed of.
