On Monday, 17 March 2025, the tenth edition of Circular Economy Week will commence. A unique opportunity to witness circular entrepreneurship in action. Businesses across the country will open their doors, share their expertise, and showcase how circular opportunities can be harnessed. The goal? To inspire entrepreneurs and accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable system together.

Circular Economy Week has grown into the largest national inspiration and networking event for both budding and experienced circular entrepreneurs. With a diverse programme full of workshops, presentations, and company visits, this week offers concrete insights and real-life examples. The full programme can be found at deweekvandecirculaireeconomie.nl. The initiative is organised by Het Versnellingshuis Nederland Circulair.

At Looop, we have embraced circular entrepreneurship as the standard for many years. We believe co-products are valuable raw materials and are committed to repurposing residual streams from the food, beverage, and fermentation industries daily. We process these useful streams into high-quality ingredients for livestock and petfood, use them as a sustainable energy source, or apply them in bio-based products. This way, we keep raw materials in the cycle, minimise waste, and reduce CO₂ emissions.

Ladder van Looop

Our approach is based on the Looop Ladder. Using this model, we strive to make the most of residual streams. Through innovative processing methods, we ensure that nutrients are not lost but instead given a second life. Our portfolio includes a wide range of co-products from grains, vegetables, maize, and other organic materials. For instance, residual products from potato processing are transformed into high-quality ingredients for dog food, incorporated into feed mixtures for pig farming, and used to cover silage. We always seek a new, suitable purpose for each residual stream. In doing so, we prevent valuable raw materials from being wasted and contribute to a more sustainable food system.

Additionally, we collaborate with partners to develop new circular applications. Whether optimising nutritional value, improving logistics processes, or scaling up sustainable production, we are always searching for the most efficient and environmentally friendly solutions. By continually innovating, we demonstrate that circular entrepreneurship is not only essential but also economically viable.

The key to a circular economy lies in collaboration. Strong partnerships form the foundation of our enterprise. Circular Economy Week highlights the importance of strong networks and knowledge-sharing. By joining forces, businesses can develop innovative solutions, use materials more efficiently, and achieve closed-loop systems.
