Product description

Pressed beet pulp

The co-product pressed beet pulp is generated during the processing of sugar beets into sugar. During processing, the beets are cut into pieces. The sliced beet is immersed in hot water, causing the sugar to dissolve and raw juice to be formed. The raw juice is then separated from the beet slices, leaving behind a palatable co-product: pressed beet pulp.

Frequently Asked Questions about Pressed Beet Pulp

Below you will find the most frequently asked questions about the co-product pressed beet pulp for animal feed. Do you have other questions about this co-product? Please feel free to contact us.

What is pressed beet pulp?

Pressed beet pulp is the residual product that remains after extracting sugar from sugar beets. Once the sugar has been removed, a moist, firm product remains that is particularly suitable as feed for cattle.

What are the benefits of pressed beet pulp?

Pressed beet pulp is palatable and promotes high feed intake. The slowly released carbohydrates support healthy rumen function and contribute to higher milk production and improved milk protein yield.

Does pressed beet pulp fit into a circular feed system?

Yes, pressed beet pulp is a typical circular product. It is a valuable residual stream from the sugar industry that is fully reused as animal feed. By incorporating it into cattle rations, food waste is prevented and you contribute to a more sustainable and efficient agricultural chain.
